I was a junior in high school and tried out for the school team. I was the ONLY player cut from tryouts! I was devastated as a young player, but this experience light a fire in me. The summer after I was cut, I trained daily, rain or shine in my parents’ backyard. Alone, I created training programs for myself mimicking and practicing the skills I saw professionally soccer plays execute on T.V. and looked for any opportunity to get my ‘foot on the ball’ (The following year I tried out again and made the team?)

Probably not what you expected to read from a soccer coach who played semi-professionally and is currently training professional soccer players globally. But the truth is, my player career started with a failure…..yup we all have them! It’s how we use failure to fuel ourselves that develops a true champion.

I continued to train daily developing my soccer skills, increased my conditioning, and after high school, as I was playing pick-up soccer at a local field, a Chicago Eagles Club coach noticed me and invited me to play for the Chicago Eagles Summer Academy, which included traveling to Brazil to play against Fortaleza and Brasila, along with a spot on the U23 men’s team. I was then scouted and accepted a soccer (and cello) scholarship to an NAIA University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in XXXX. I then signed with Steel City FC Midwest Premiere league where I spent 2 years playing semiprofessionally. I opted for a change to put my bachelor’s degree to use in sales and marketing, however quickly realized my heart and passion was on the soccer pitch. I have been providing individualized, goal-oriented training to all age levels including multiple professional soccer players since 20XX. I love what I do and why you’ll always see me out on the field playing with my clients. My experiences in successes and failures have shaped the programs I develop for my players to ensure a wholistic approach-technical skills, conditioning, and mentorship.
